Hello there!

We hope everyone has had a good Christmas and New Year and that their 2016’s have kicked off how they wanted!  Without much further ado, let’s dive into IN’s plans for this coming year!

We’re going to start off with the sadder news of the year, but don’t worry we’ve got plenty of good stuff to come!  Firstly, after a lot of discussions with our members over the past weeks and between ourselves, we’ve decided to call it a day with WildStar.  We came back with the goal of clearing Datascape before Christmas, and we outdid ourselves, shutting down Avatus before the end of November!  However, with WildStar’s future looking rather uncertain and a confirmation of no new raid in the next content patch, we’ve decided to call it quits.

Secondly, it is with great sadness we announce that Davo has decided to retire his position as one of our trusty Commissars, unfortunately and rightly so, one’s real life should always be a priority.  We’d like to thank him for the long hours and hard work he’s put in over the last year.  His dedication to scouring the forums and various WildStar chat channels is what brought many of you to us!

Ok, so wipe the tears from those pretty eyes of yours, here’s what we’re doing going forward!

Eyes on Crowfall

As many of you know, returning to WildStar was only ever a stop gap for us.  Since summer of 2015 we’ve been hawking (har har) Crowfall as our next major MMO.  With its focus on territory conquest and PvP, it’s got our collective jimmies mighty excited.  If you haven’t already checked it out, make sure to go stop by their site, and if you’ve got any more questions feel free to poke Ico or Jenro, as we’re both in the Alpha and happy to explain our plans for the game!  We’re also streaming the game when the tests are live, but please remember the game is in early Alpha and it there’s a long way to go yet!

Heroes of the Stuuuuuuuurrrrrrrm!

Our love of HoTS as a guild is no small secret, and after the success of our first in-house HoTS night, we’re planning to do more!  Make sure to keep an eye on the raid planner, as we’ll be using that to schedule our GCNs (Community Game Nights) and events!  We’re also hearing calls to form a pre-made Team League team, and we may even end up launching two!

Star Citizen

A small group of us have had an eye on Star Citizen for quite a while, and with the Universe content starting to roll out, we’ve begun preparation for our little mercenary chapter!  We’re still keeping to our one MMO focus, but with the details and dates of Star Citizen’s launch clouded in mystery, we’re just playing to sharpen our skills!  If you’re interested in joining us, make sure to poke a council member before creating your account, as we’re round robining friend referrals to give everyone a little something something.

Guild Comms and VoIP

So with our ongoing struggles with the TS server host and it’s unannounced maintenance windows, the Council and Guild have been doing live testing of Discord.  We’ve now decided that the switch will be permanent, and we’ll continue to have our old TS server as a backup until the subscription expires!  Discord is a free service with great chat integration and a complement multi-platform apps, it even works in web browser, making staying in touch with the guild easier than ever.  To our members, we’ll have a guide up (now?!?) on the forums, so if you need help with the setup, make sure to check it out.

Whilst there’s a few more bits in the pipeline (GAMESCOM HYPE!), we feel this post has probably gone on for long enough, so we’ll see you in game you beautiful bastards!

Muchos love,
The Council (and Commissar!) of IN

Crowfall looks cool, but do I read it right it costs $179 to get access to the beta/alpha tests?  (@Ico/Jenro) :o

Step 1: Be rich.
Step 2: Don't not be rich.
Step 3: ????????????
Step 4: Profit.

Alternate path: Chrash the US currency for great discounts on almost any product sold in America

That's possibly the packages to get yourself into the current rounds of pre-alpha.  But I believe the cheaper packages get access, just later in the dev cycle.
